Buddies Ministry

What is the Buddy System?

Our Buddy system is designed to care for
those with disabilities in a way that allows
for parents and guardians to engage in the
worship service, knowing that their loved
ones are safe and well-cared for while
being included in the church body.

Each member of our Buddy team is trained and
informed specifically on how to provide care. To
ensure that we are all able to give the best care
possible. If you are interested please contact
Rachel Olstad or the church office so that we can
give you more details about what care might look
like for you.

Buddies are provided for children affected
by disability during the 10:30 a.m. service
on Sundays or by request at other church
services and events.

Weekly At Second Service On Sunday

Camp Levi is a retreat where families
affected by disability will be encouraged,

find hope, and engage in lots of fun ac-
tivities. It is where families are not just

welcomed, but celebrated. And, it is a
refuge of rest and peace from the daily
challenges and struggles of life.
Every family member is cared for and

included in worship, teaching, fun activi-
ties, and incredible fellowship. A trained

and caring Short Term Missionary (STM)
will be a support and friend to the loved
one affected by disability, as well as with
their typical siblings. This allows parents
and caregivers to attend retreat activities

worry free and find time to relax and con-
nect with each other and with friends.

Above all, families discover joy at Camp
Levi. And, it is the same exuberant joy
our loving Father has for us!

The Lord your God is in your midst,
a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.
Zeph. 3:17 (ESV)

Friendship Group

we are beginning a Friendship Group Bible Study for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). We will be meeting on the last Thursdays of each month, March through May, from 4:00-5:15, in room 202 of the Barn. We’ll enjoy a time of worship, a Bible lesson from teacher Judy Squier, delicious snacks, and some great fellowship together. We hope and pray that this class will grow and become a permanent fixture at Jville Pres.

Can we still attend Jville Pres. youth groups if our family goes to another church or does not attend church at all?

Yes! We welcome families of all faiths from all different walks of life.

Who are the volunteers working with my student?

All of our volunteers are believers in God and are members of the church. They have gone through an interview process to assess whether their values align with the EPC’s, we have run a background check on them, and they have a passion for youth ministry.

How do I get my student connected to the Youth Group at Jville Pres?

There are a couple of options. The easiest way is to get in touch with the Youth Director Nate at Nathan.m@jvillepres.org. You can also call the church office at (541) 899-1287, you can come to the church office, or you can find a staff member during any of our Sunday worship services.

What are the events provided on a week-to-week basis?

For Illuminate, we have Tuesday night youth group and Friday night Light Night (every other week). For Illuminate, we have Wednesday night youth group, and Friday night Light Night (every other week).

Our Illuminate Tuesday night youth group goes from 7:00pm-8:30pm, our Ignite Wednesday night youth group goes from 7:00pm-9:00pm, our Thursday morning, and our Friday night Light Night goes from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
